Tummy Tuck & Liposuction
Sculpt a stronger, smoother you!
At Heartland Plastic Surgery, we know that even with healthy habits, some areas of the body can resist change. Whether you’re struggling with loose skin after pregnancy or weight loss, or frustrated by stubborn fat that won’t respond to diet and exercise, Tummy Tuck and Liposuction procedures can help reshape your midsection—and your confidence.
Dr. Biskup specializes in NATURAL-LOOKING belly buttons and LIPOSCULPTURE, designed to restore a natural and sculpted abdomen.
Why Tummy Tuck or Liposuction?
While both procedures can dramatically improve your silhouette, they serve different purposes—and often work best when combined for comprehensive body contouring. They can be done separetly or combined together depending on your anatomy and goals.
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty):
A tummy tuck removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tightens weakened or separated abdominal muscles. It’s especially helpful after:
-
Pregnancy
-
Significant weight loss
-
Aging-related skin laxity
-
Diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation)

Liposuction:
Liposuction is ideal for removing stubborn fat deposits in targeted areas like:
-
Abdomen and waist
-
Flanks (“love handles”)
-
Thighs, hips, back, arms, and neck
-
As part of a Mommy Makeover or body contouring plan
Liposuction doesn’t tighten skin or muscles but is excellent for sculpting and refining body shape.

Am I a Good Candidate?
You may be a good candidate for tummy tuck, liposuction, or both if you:
- Are at or near your goal weight
- Have loose or excess skin on your abdomen
- Have isolated areas of stubborn fat
- Are in good overall health
- Have realistic expectations about results and recovery
These procedures are not weight-loss solutions but powerful tools to refine your shape and restore body confidence.
Frequently Asked Questions?
Does a tummy tuck hurt? Yes, abdominoplasty can be one of the more painful procedures in plastic surgery. However, we routinely employ a non-narcotic pain medicine Journavx that has dramatically lessened the amount of pain after this procedure. We also offer Zynrelef, a long-release numbing medicine that is applied during surgery.
Will my muscle separation be corrected? Yes, rectus diastasis (aka muscle separation associated with pregnacy) is routinely repaired.
Will I have drains? Yes, most commonly you will have one drain which will stay in 1 week.
How long should I wear compression? We recommend 6 weeks of continuous compression, followed by 6 weeks of daytime wear only.
Do you recommend lymphatic massage? This is helpful but not mandatory. Lymphatic massage can help decrease swelling faster and help patients feel more comfortable sooner. However, it does not change the long-term aesthetic result.
